What Do You Say?

The Power of Leadership Communication

It’s not only what you say, but also how you say it.

More importantly: it’s about what words you CHOOSE to say it. 🔡

Words express thoughts, and thoughts become results. 🔡 ➡️ 🧠 ➡️ 🥇

The words leaders choose to use when addressing or communicating with others in their organization, and the choice of words that constitute the commonly used language, also determine the culture of such an organization and, therefore, its results. 📊

BOLD statement, right? 🤔😀

Let’s see how it works. ⚙️

What ancient Buddhists used to talk about the power of thoughts, the power of words, and how they shape your reality, it was considered mumbo-jumbo for centuries, because such affirmations were impossible to prove and measure by modern science. 🔮🪬🧪

Well… not anymore.

Thanks to neuroscience, nowadays we know that we all have something called mirror neurons, and their role is to capture the intention behind the message we receive, even at a subconscious level, and subsequently making us react to that—positively or negatively. 🪞🤜🤛

And how are mirror neurons properly stimulated in others?

By appealing to what is known as a representational system, which every person has. That system is how people process information:

  • By visuals 🖥️🤩

  • By sound 🎙️🦻

  • By kinesthesis (emotional appeal of a feeling). ❤️

“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it” – Simon Sinek.

When your organization’s vocabulary is built upon words that evoke a vision of a future, a sound of listening and sharing, and a rallying cry or emotional appeal, you are building a culture of success. People gather around a purpose.

The Why-How-What.

The purpose, the process, and the final product.

Not money.

That’s only a - totally desirable - direct result of success. 💵

It's the mission of the company. 🚀

Why does each talent in an organization do what she or he does, and why do they feel proud about it?

Because they feel part of something meaningful.

It doesn’t matter the industry or the service.

It’s business-critical:

  1. To invest time and strategy in modeling your organizational language. 🧭🤓

  2. To design a consistent program of cultural transference. 🧱

  3. To make sure your top leaders - and referential talent across the board - address and share the company’s narrative and purpose. 🤩🥇

Think in what keywords reinforce collective identity and cohesion?

Tackle this in a systemic and organic way if you want a thriving culture and a successful business. 💪🏆

If you’re a leader, whether you need to rally your team or address a difficult topic, you need to inspire and connect by influencing them with the right language. 💡

It’s not mumbo-jumbo. It’s an art, with science behind it. 🔬🧬

And the best part of it?

It can be modeled, taught, and learned by anyone! 🧑🏼🏫👨🎓

Tackle this early in your business, not later.

Your Organizational Culture is not an option. It’s a Must have.

Invest wisely in your culture, don’t spend poorly.

And that’s not only a choice of words. 🔠

It’s a choice of Business Culture and Purpose. 📖 🏆
