Viacom appoints German Groba

Viacom International Media Networks has appointed Germán Groba as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Youth & Music and Kids & Family brands for the Southern & Western Europe, Middle East, and Africa (SWEMEA) business cluster.


Germán will be responsible for overseeing the Youth & Music and Kids & Family brand portfolios, including MTV and Nickelodeon, across Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Benelux, GSA (Germany, Switzerland, and Austria), Greece, Malta, and Turkey, as well as Africa and the Middle East. His responsibilities will include programming strategy for linear and multiplatform formats, content acquisitions, localization and operations, talent and artist management, marketing, and the creative direction of these brands.


Germán will be based in Madrid and will report to Raffaele Annecchino, President and Managing Director of VIMN SWEMEA.

Prior to rejoining VIMN, Germán spent seven and a half years at The Walt Disney Company as Programming Content Director for Disney Channels Latin America. He also held positions at Claxson as Programming Director for Latin America & Iberia, and served as Director of Programming for VH1 Latin America at MTV Networks. Additionally, he has worked at EMI Music and Warner Music.
